KARACHI: One person was killed while one other was injured on Thursday in a firing incident in Karachi.

According to police, the firing took place in Karachi's Sultanabad area.

Meanwhile, a bomb was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad in the city's Manghopir area.

The bomb contained 10 kilograms of explosives and was planted in a box outside a marble factory.

The locals called the police after deeming the unidentified box as suspicious.

Karachi, the country's financial capital, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism.
