ISLAMABAD: High-power transmitters of Radio Pakistan would become operational in Dera Ismail Khan, Hyderabad, Faqirabad and some other cities in August, a PBC spokesman said.

The PBC had launched a big programme to replace old transmitters with ultramodern digital transmitters and one 400 kilowatt transmitter had been inaugurated in Peshawar last month.

This transmitter, the spokesman said, besides adding voice quality, had an outreach up to Bajaur Agency, Kurram Agency, Khyber Agency, Mohmand Agency, Orakzai Agency, Mala­kand Agency, Upper Dir, Lower Dir [Chakdara], Buner, Hangu, Mardan, Shangla [Swat], Swabi, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan and Mansehra.
