Tahirul Qadri alleges govt planning to send his plane back

LONDON: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief and leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dr Tahirul Qadri alleged on Saturday that the government is conspiring to send his plane back, DawnNews reported.

On his way to Pakistan from Canada, Dr Qadri held a press conference at Heathrow Airport in London.

He said that he is not afraid of giving up his life and will come to Pakistan and fight for the cause of the masses.

“No matter how hard the government tries to stop me, I will come to Pakistan,” he said.

Calling Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif ‘Qatil-e-Aala’, he said that Rana Sanaullah was only doing what he was told to do. The real culprits are at the top, he commented.

Qadri said that forty articles of the Constitution of Pakistan are currently suspended, adding, “There is no democracy in the country but rather a monarchy.”

In an exclusive conversation with DawnNews, he said that efforts were underway to sow misunderstanding between him and the Pakistan army.

“We will not stop if the government stops us. However, if the army comes, we will cooperate,” Dr Qadri said.

This man doesn't want to live in Pakistan but will sacrifice his life for Pakistan! There are many who believe in people like him who talk from both sides of their mouth. Their action speak louder than their words but still people think what they are saying is the truth. Unless people get rid of fanatics like Qadri Pakistani people will never get out of the rut they are in today.

Though Tahir-ul-Qadri, seems to have some genuine concerns but his intention is questionable. His political ambition to lead the country along with other failed parties, will further destroy law and order situation in Pakistan. If he is so patriotic then he should revoke his Canadian Citizenship and get settled in Pakistan to deal with his political agenda. The culture of pulling strings from abroad should be avoided

Dr. Qadri is trying to bring an Arab-style spring-revolution - untimely and misplaced - and should not be supported by the majority of the people and attempted derailment of an elected Govt.! The latter needs to tread very carefully, given the full-scale operation in North Waziristan and the backlash on civilians that can easily spill-over all across Pakistan due to the sleeper-cells of the terrorists!

As a Canadian, I demand Canada to cancel citizenship of Mr. Qadri. He should have stayed in Pakistan if he had to fix the mess of Pakistan. Canada should not support any naturalized citizen if found involved in any kind of criminal intention or activity. He has not right to be considered as Canadian if he is more faithful to Pakistan than Canada.

If he is not afraid to give up his life then he must have lied on his application for refugee claim in Canada.

If you are so concerned about Pakistan, leave Canada, come back to Lahore, march in the front line .

Here we go again, another nut case out to save Pakistan. Qadri knows that he can't win the elections so he is trying the back door. And what a shame people of Pakistan are falling for it. Democracy doesn't get strengthened by shouting in the streets rather via strengthening the institutions and have checks on each a every role that allows no corruption. Strengthening of institutions is least of concern for any Political party including PTI (the so called new wave), but street protest seem to be high on the list, End result, further chaos and the invasion by nutcases from across the globe.

@kashif What you said is correct. These people first prove to their adopted homeland that their lives were in danger in Pakistan and seek asylum. Once they get new nationality then they start showing their true colors. These people will dare not treat their adopted homeland the way they treat Pakistan. This man claims that he will sacrifice his life for Pakistan but has chosen not to live there. And most interesting interestingly, he will sacrifice his life for Pakistan but will not give up Canadian citizenship. What a hypocrite. First it was Banana Republic of UK which allowed its citizen to interfere in Pakistan's affairs and now it is Canada. After all both are subject of Her Majesty. Now if this is the game these countries are going to play then it will be a fair game that Pakistani's who are in Pakistan and especially those around the world to start supporting those forces who are trying to destabilize these countries, like IRA in UK and Quebec separatist in Canada. Let the game begin!

It is probably going to be attempted the way it was in 1999, when Nawaz Sharif prevented Gen. Musharraf's plane from landing at Karachi airport. We all know how that turned out. Hopefully, history will repeat itself, with this time Nawaz Sharif kicked out for good.

Whose agent is this Qadri? Why is he trying to disrupt Pakistan? Everyone, including him has a right to disagree but not to disrupt a state, sow chaos and cause death and destruction. Democracy means, majority has the right to rule. I am no fan of Nawaz Sharif but he won the election in a landslide. Even if there was localized rigging in a few places it would not have changed the overall result. Since Qadri knew he can never win the election so he took the cowards way out and did not even compete in the election. This legitimate government has been in power for just a year. It takes much longer to turn a country around. He needs to be given time and if he can not turn the country around then in the next election he would lose and another party can win. Enemies of Pakistan want the country never to progress and people like Qadri are helping them by keeping the country in constant chaos. Just bringing a few thousand people on the street does not mean that the majority in a county of 180 miilion support them.

Mr Quadri is collecting welfare from the Govt of Canada enjoying a good life and let his Pakistani brothers suffer back-home. He is trying to create problem in Pakistan.Sane Pakistanis will never vote for him and his collation. Mr Quadri let the present Govt complete his term, and then go for change through ballot not through bullet.Pakistan has suffered enough do not promote politics of violence.Surrender your Canadian passport ,come live in Pakistan, help the people in their sufferings and change the life of masses through ballot.

Why Mr. Qadri is living in Canada and took an oath of Canadian Citizenship if he is so much concerned about Pakistan and Islam. Here is the oath that Mr. Qadri took as a Canadian Citizen: ."I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfill my duties as a Canadian citizen." I believe he represents certain internal and external groups who are opposed to Democracy in Pakistan and he is creating an atmosphere of civil unrest to destablize the elected government.
