Shaheed Benazirabad made division

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah granted the status of division to Shaheed Benazirabad district in a meeting attended by former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Mithiani town, 15km from here, on Saturday.

The former president along with the chief minister reached Mithiani town on an invitation by taulka president of PPP and chairman district development committee Mumtaz Ali Chandio.

The chief minister declared Shaheed Benazirabad a division with three districts — Sanghar, Naushahro Feroze and Shaheed Benazirabad.

The former president on the demand of party leaders and workers of the area advised the chief minister to increase the development budget of the district equivalent to the budget of Shaheed Benazirabad district.

PPP is no more a party of Shaheeds. It's a party of feudal lords. If fair and free elections are held today, the people of Sindh will reject them due to their pathetic performance. This regime is the symbol of massive corruption. Comparatively speaking, they have even left ANP's KPK government far behind in terms of corruption and incompetence.

Is this really a news worthy item?. I really don't care what name they give to what town or village. PPP have run out of ideas and are using the only two names that still sell. I always liked Benazir not because she was a Bhutto or a good politician but because she was the first of her kind. Educated, beautiful and knew how to speak. One thing I would never understand is that Shaheed has become her first name. Pakistanis have made Shaheed so cheap. Benazir died while in a car going to address a political rally. I am really confused. So a soldier dying for his/her country is exactly the same as Benazir's death?.
