BADIN: The district and sessions judge, Ghulam Rasool Samoon, on Saturday awarded the death penalty to Chetan Kumar Meghwar after the court found him guilty of shooting dead his close relative, Ramsesh Meghwar, in Meghwar village near here two years ago.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on the convict and set at liberty the other two co-accused in the case, Faqeero and Mitho Mal, for lack of evidence against them.

PPP-SB rally against PPO

A large number of PPP-SB workers took out a rally and held a demonstration outside the press club in Tando Bago town on Saturday in protest against the controversial Protection of Pakistan Ordinance.

They expressed the fear the controversial law would legalise human rights violations.
