LAHORE: A glaring spelling mistake at an event meant to inspire confidence among students hardly makes any authority squirm.

Such a scene was observed when the word campaign was prominently written as "Compaign" on the banners and streamers at a ceremony to launch Students Enrolment in Punjab.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif launched the campaign and the schools' stalls on the corner of the stage where he himself enrolled students with his signature also carried the same spelling.

The mistake was noticed by all but the chief minister. Or he might have considered it too trivial an issue to discuss.

A senior legislator told Dawn that such ignorance spoke volumes for the Punjab government's lack of focus on quality education.
