LAHORE: A sub-Inspector of Chuhng investigation police was suspended from service after a private torture-cum-detention cell was unearthed in the West Wood Colony, Thokar Niaz Beg, on Tuesday.

SI Muhammad Ijaz had detained four suspects, including a woman, at a house in connection with a theft case. Sadar SP Zahid Nawaz conducted an inquiry which held the SI responsible for detaining the suspects at a private house.

They were identified as Shaukat, Sharafat, Ghulam Rasool and Irshaad Bibi. The theft case was lodged by Khawaja Shakeel who, according to the FIR, lost 30 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs40,000 and other valuables.
