QUETTA: Another mutilated body was found in the Totak area of Khuzdar district on Monday, officials said. A team headed by the assistant commissioner of Khuzdar continued its search in Totak amid tight security and discovered another grave in which a body was found.

Four bodies have been discovered from the area in the past 24 hours.

It may be mentioned that 13 bodies were found in the same area two months ago.

A senior official of the Khuzdar administration told Dawn that a body was found on Monday, but it remains unidentified. The body was taken to the district hospital.

Justice Noor Mohammad Maskanzai, who is heading a judicial tribunal investigating the matter, was informed about the discovery of another grave.

Justice Maskanzai has been in Khuzdar for a week to record evidence about the discovery of bodies in Totak.

“We have found four bodies on the basis of infor-mation provided by the people of the area,” a senior official said. Security forces have been deployed in the area, he added.

A large number of people, including women from different parts of Khuzdar and nearby areas whose loved ones are missing, visited the district hospital to identify the bodies.

“None of the bodies could be identified so far because they are beyond recognition,” hospital sources said.

A team of doctors will examine the bodies and take samples for DNA test to determine their identity.
