LAHORE: Lytton Road police on Thursday arrested two sons of the Punjab Assembly secretary for thrashing a traffic warden who issued them a fine ticket for road violation.

Police said warden Waqas stopped a car carrying Rai Mumtaz and Rai Najam near Qartaba Chowk for traffic violation. The brothers allegedly tortured the warden when he fined them.

Police took the youth into custody and registered a case against them.

The Rais told the media in the lockup that the warden was abusive and had fined them for no fault of theirs.

Taking note of the incident, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed strict action against the sons of the Punjab Assembly secretary and others and directed strict action against them. He said that no one was above the law.
