Trams for Karachi

Published March 19, 2014

THIS refers to ‘Fifty years ago’ (March 13), which was about the tramway extension plan. It made me realise how good and convenient trams were for Karachiites in the 1960s.

Going from Saddar to Boulton Market during office hours was not a problem as a number of trams were continuously running and picking up passengers.

The authorities concerned with transportation and traffic control should give a serious thought to introducing trams in the city once again. This will be of immense help in reducing the traffic load and free the city from pollution.
