SAHIWAL: An addict burnt his wife by throwing petrol on her in village 93/9-L on Wednesday.

Reports said Javed, 39, who had contracted marriage with Parveen some 12 years back, had been without job for five years. The accused would often quarrel with his wife over a monetary issue.

Parveen, a mother of seven children, was employed as a maid at different houses. On Wednesday, Javed again demanded money from his wife which she refused to give. He fell into a rage, pour petrol on his wife and torched her.

The neighbours shifted Parveen to DHQ Hospital.
