QUETTA: A man was killed and three others were injured in two landmine blasts in Bakhar and Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti district on Monday.

Levies’ sources said that two people riding a motorcycle were hit by a landmine planted by unknown people at the roadside in Bakhar area. The blast killed one man and injured the other. The injured was taken to a hospital.

Two people were injured in the other landmine blast in Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti.

TRAPPED: Four workers are feared to have died in a mine after water entered it in Khanozai area of Pishin district, some 80km from here, on Monday.

Five workers were digging chromite in the private company’s mine in Killi Khushab area when suddenly water started gushing out of the mountain, filling the narrow place, official sources told Dawn.

One of the miners was rescued after hectic efforts of two hours.

But rescuers could not reach the remaining four labourers trapped in the mine.

The trapped miners belong to Swat.
