You have to hand it to the German actress Suzanne Bernert for accepting such a huge challenge. It is no mean feat to portray Sonia Gandhi on the idiot box!

The actress will be seen in the famous Italian-born Indian politician’s role in a show called Pradhanmantri which is about post-partition politics in India. The fact that Sonia G is not liked across the board in her country (of political birth) will make Suzanne B’s job all the more difficult. She has to walk a tight rope of political verisimilitude and acting truthfulness. Let’s see how she fares.
