QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) leader Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldani has appealed to the chief justice to provide protection to witnesses in the case concerning recovery of mutilated bodies from mass graves in Khuzdar and sought an impartial investigation to expose the people responsible for their deaths.

At a press conference here on Sunday, he said the judicial committee headed by Justice Mohammad Noor Meskanzai should start the inquiry without delay so that justice could be provided to the relatives of victims as early as possible.

He claimed that invisible forces were threatening the witnesses and asked the committee to take notice of these threats.

He cautioned that if the culprits went unpunished it would be a great tragedy with the grieving families and would not be in the interest of the country.

Dr Jamaldani claimed that there were more unmarked graves near Totak area in which mutilated bodies had been dumped, but some forces were creating hurdles in the search of such graves.

Agha Hasan Baloch and Ghulam Nabi Marri of the BNP-M were present on the occasion.
