ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declared on Thursday that operation launched in Karachi by law enforcement agencies would continue because the government was fully committed to restoring peace in the restive city.

Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing operation against criminal elements and outlaws in Karachi, he said efforts to bring normality to the city would continue.

The prime minister was talking to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who called on him and briefed him on the operation. The minister apprised the premier of the arrests made by law-enforcement personnel during various raids in the city.

Mr Khan told Mr Sharif that the operation had entered its third phase and new areas in the metropolis had been identified for raids, etc.
