KARACHI: Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro has assured the journalists community that the killers of Shan Dahar, a Larkana-based journalist murdered last week, would be arrested soon and compensation would be paid to his family and expenses on education of Mr Dahar’s children would be borne by the government.

Mr Khuhro was talking to a delegation of journalists in Larkana on Sunday, according to a press release issued here on Monday.

The journalists had earlier staged a sit-in at the Pakistan Park roundabout in Larkana in response to a call of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Rana Azim Group).

KUJ president G.M Jamali announced that a flat would be given to the family of Mr Dahar in the housing scheme for journalists in DHA Karachi.

A cheque of Rs100,000 was presented to Mr Dahar’s family on behalf of the KUJ.
