PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is sponsoring the Indus Water Cross 2014 to be held on Sunday on the Motorway near Swabi.

The event is being organised by the Frontier 4x4 Club and Sigma Motors. Around 30 jeeps will participate in this activity. This is the fourth time that this rally will take place on Indus River, but the first to get official sponsorship. This year the organisers have decided to do it on a big scale and involve the government sector in it, said a press release.

“Earlier the event was postponed due to water level issues as the thrill of the event is when the jeeps are stuck in the water and can’t move forward or go back,” said TCKP MD Mushtaq Ahmad.

He said that adventure tourism was a new concept and should be highlighted. The 4x4 clubs of Islamabad, Lahore and Abbottabad will participate.
