PESHWAR: The Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) on Sunday issued a statement seeking immediate talks with the Pakistani Taliban, DawnNews reported.

The joint declaration said that the decisions taken by the parliaments, All Parties Conference (APC) and the Committee on National Security should be implemented and that no foreign pressure should be allowed over the issue of Taliban talks.

It further demanded an end to all military operations conducted in the tribal areas and to ensure an honorable return of all affectees belonging to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

The declaration also said that the protest movement against drone attacks and Nato supply through Pakistan would be conducted more vigorously and that these protests would be staged from Karachi to Torkham.

Moreover, the DPC announced that there would be a protest lodged with the federal government against friendly ties with India.
