MANSEHRA, Dec 13: The Torghar district has been divided into 40 village councils for the upcoming local government elections.

According to a press release issued by Torghar deputy commissioner, the district has been divided into 15 wards in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2013.

The district, which is highly backward and conservative, comprises two tehsils, including Judbah having 18 village councils and Hassanzai 22 village councils, respectively. Complaints regarding the newly created village councils could be submitted with DC office till December 22, and final lists would be displayed on Dec 23, said the release. —Correspondent
