MIRAMASHAH: At least three suspected militants were reported killed and several others injured when two missiles were fired by a US drone on a compound in Angar Kalli area near Miramshah Tehsil in North Waziristan Agency on Thursday night, intelligence and local sources told Dawn.com.

The identity of the militants could not be ascertained as the drone strike was carried out at 12 am.

The sources said that drones had been hovering over the area for hours.

Earlier on Nov 21, a US drone strike in the Tal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu district had killed at least six people, including a senior member of the Taliban-linked Haqqani network, and injured another.

The attack had come a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz said the US had assured Pakistan of not conducting drone strikes targeting the leaders of TTP if dialogue began between them and the Pakistani government.

In my opinion, Pakistanis should be thankful to Americans for doing their job. Drones have neutralized several terrorist. I don't understand why Pakistan want to negotiate and what is there to negotiate with them. Pakistan negotiated with them in Sawat and everbody know what we got in return.

@ejaz: Mr Ejaz, when they start bombing via drones in your area and kill your loved ones, how many people you know were killed by US were Taliban. FYI none of TTP members have been killed by US. Have you ever thought who is sponsoring TTP ,for sure the one who are using Drones.

Drone attack very bad.Where is IK? Actually drones are the only scare for Taliban.Let drones work. These will herd Taliban to the talks table and they will entreat Pakistan for negotiations.

Every time, there is a Drone attack, Pakistan should send a thank you note to U.S. They are doing, what Pakistanis should be doing . Pakistan does not have the will or the desire to take on these killers. As far as I am concerned, more Drone attacks are welcome. This is the only thing, which scares these killers. Pakistan talks of sovereignty. They can't even send a Police man to these areas. Pakistan has no sovereignty over tribal reas.

If any country murdered USA citizen on USA soil then USA will declare war on that country. So like for like Pakistan should not allow USA to get away with it. Pakistan should arrest all CIA Officials in Pakistan and should stop any USA supplies getting to Afghanistan. Pakistan people have a duty to make private arrest of CIA officials for murder. It is also Pakistan Police job to arrest CIA officials in Pakistan for murder by Drones. Murder is Murder even when the murder is by USA. A court in Peshawar has ruled that USA is guilty of murder by Drones in Pakistan.

Afghans wholeheartedly support the drone strategic strikes killing terrorists, who have the backing of Pakistani rulers to advance their sordid hegemonic regional agenda, which will trigger untold calamity for Pakistan itself.
