These women (or men in hiding) seem to be very angry (why other women get to wear and show off clothing and make-up). The brainwashing by their durs / madrasah sessions has made them zombie like. What ever happened to being moderate? Moderation means not going to either extreme. Showing your face and hair cannot be wrong by any logic. Ahh... but 'logic' has to be thrown out when it comes to religious arguments.

I see more "Niqabs" than "Hijabs"! By the way, can someone please show me where exactly in Quran does it say that women must wear the hijab like depicted in the pictures? It is a cultural thing of Arabs, and not a commandment of Islam! Get the facts straight!

786 Hijaab is a commandment of Allah Azza wa Jalla. Allah Azza wa Alaa is Ultimate Wisdom, Ultimate Knowledge Ultimate Power and Ultimate Presence. Anything coming from such an Entity must be adhered to and obeyed totally because such an Entity can never go wrong in His judgments because He knows every tiny bits of elements He created and their appliances, applications, implementations and consequential objectives. If He commands or enjoins anything it means that its implementation and adherence is the best for him or her who is commanded and what he/she has been commanded. Until you convert every women, (Or most women) in your own country to wear Hijab, that makes no sense to celebrate a WORLD Hijab Day. You are a very small minority, Ladies.

looks more like a World Niqab Day to me, with a pinch of solidarity with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt (the Four Finger Sign).

@Imran: Hijab yes. But like that in Iran or similar countries. The woman are working in these areas without any problem but with respect. Nudity whether 1% or 100 % can not be accepted. Will you accept it for your family members or your other near ones ?. May God bless you !!

Jamat Islami did nothing for poor masses. It always sways to wrong side. We don't need hijab but haya. And Haya can be achieved without niqab. Saudi funding always makes us restless.

Well, I could not see a single woman smiling.... everyone looked sort of serious. Perhaps one or two were really smiling behind the veil but it is difficult to tell.
