LAHORE, Aug 24: PPP Punjab policy and planning in-charge Munir Ahmed Khan has accused police of torturing him and misbehaving with his family members.

In a letter to the chief minister, Mr Khan said he was present along with his family at his residence on Peco Road when some eight plainclothesmen entered the house by scaling the wall on Aug 20. “They tortured me and misbehaved with my family women,” he said and added the police told him that he was wanted in a case registered in 2009.

He said he had already joined investigation in the case and was not absconding.

Mr Khan identified Maragzar Post in-charge SI Arshad, and two constables Asif and Sultan involved in the incident. He said the policemen also took away jewellery worth Rs250,000.

He urged the chief minister to take action against the policemen involved in the torture and humiliation.
