Step ahead: A new beginning

New beginning

OLD days are gone and new days are here, unravelling a totally new and a different page of life. As we step into the boundaries of the new schools with shaky hands, sweaty brow and dry mouth, a welcoming breeze hits the face and reaches to the soul, preparing us to meet the new world out there.

Our surroundings are filled with fresh air whispering raw ambitions, goals, aims and aspirations in our ears. With every step taken forward, we step into a new world; a mini world that symbolises the real and much bigger world out there. It’s the world that prepares us to endure the difficulties of life that are thrown upon us so that we are totally prepared for what the future has in store for us.

With hope and optimism, we move. We move forward. We stop ourselves from letting the fear and anticipation get over the good of us and we are able to make it to the building we would spend our next few years in; where we would learn to be an educated person, learn to be a responsible member of society, learn to be a good citizen and, most importantly, a good human being.

Large painted words welcoming us inside, boosting our morale and confidence, and so making it all a little less frightening. Getting to meet new faces and getting acquainted makes us forget how scared we were and we realise that it was actually totally worthless to fret so much.

It’s magical. It’s how it is supposed to be. At the beginning we feel like a baby bird thrown off the hill, frantically flapping the wings, trying not to fall and, exactly like that bird, we come out as a winner and are able to know that we are not going to fall and that we are capable of surviving it.

With everything new, comes the new form of the person who provides us with the knowledge that we never had; who shows us which was not visible to us.

As the place loses its unfamiliarity and we feel like being home that’s when we have won the small battles of the day and at the end, we leave the premises with the new “me” inside us: more mature, more responsible and more confident.
