LAHORE, July 14: Viral eye infection is increasing in the city after recent rains, an expert said.

Prof Asad Aslam, the head of the Ophthalmology Department of Mayo Hospital, said that over a dozen cases of the virus were being reported in the OPD of the department every day.About the symptoms of the virus, he said the eyes turned red and watery.

Regarding precautionary measures, Prof Aslam said in case of the virus attack, the eyes should not be rubbed but washed frequently with cold water and sunglasses be used. Negligence might cause corneal problems, he warned. — APP
