TAXILA, June 30: The SNGPL authorities have busted a three member gang led by local contractor who was giving gas connection to the domestic consumers illegally and registered a case against them, besides taking in to confinement pipes and other gauges.

Inside sources in SNGPL local office at Wah regional distribution office said that a three member gang led by contractor Tahir Nadeem was involved in giving illegal gas connection to the consumers in Wah Cantonment since long.

As they were lying the pipe line and providing gas connections to the consumers in Saadat Colony in Wah Cantonment illegally during night by extorting illegal gratifications from the consumers, a team led by incharge Wah regional distribution office Rehmat Ullah along with other officials paid surprise check and found that the huge main supply line was laid in the colony and connection was illegally given to the consumers.

The team taken in to custody laid the gas pipe line illegally in the area, besides other tools, gauges and registered a case against the accused at Wah Saddar Police station.

When contacted investigation officer SI Syed Abid Shah confirmed that a case has got registered against the gang for giving illegal connection to consumers and they were guilty of gas theft.

Responding to another question, he said that the accused succeeded in securing bail before arrest from the local court, therefore the Police has not been able to arrest the accused.
