RAWALPINDI, June 5: A youth allegedly raped a woman after kidnapping her from her house in the jurisdiction of Saddar Bairooni police station Tuesday night.

The alleged rapist was however caught by the people of the area who rushed to the scene after hearing the woman’s screams.

The suspect was beaten up by the angry crowd who later handed him over to the police.

The woman, whose husband worked in a hotel on Adiala Road, was alone at her home when the 22-year-old man, who lived in the same area, entered her house and kidnapped her.

Police said the man took the woman to a deserted place where he allegedly raped her.

They said the suspect was arrested and later sent to Adiala jail by the area magistrate.
