CHARSADDA, Sept 26: Five people were killed in different incidents here on Wednesday, police said.

They said that two bodies were recovered from fields in Tarnab area. Sources said that the deceased aged between 25 and 26 years seemed to be from Kohat as their vehicle (B-4809) was parked nearby. However, identity of the deceased could not be confirmed and the bodies were buried at a local graveyard.

In another incident a man was gunned down by his rivals in Rajar Shiekhabad. Police said that according to preliminary information accused Mohammad Ali and Faqir Hussain of Kala Dher opened fire on the man who later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

In a separate incident a woman and her child were killed as roof of their house caved in in Katozai area of Shabqadar. They were identified as Ms Nishat and two-month-old Amad.

PROTEST: Lawyers on Wednesday held a protest against alleged police torture of their colleague and demanded arrest of the officials responsible for highhandedness.

On the call of District Bar Association, Charsadda, led by its president Waris Khan, the protesting lawyers gathered at Farooq Azam Chowk and blocked the road to traffic.

They demanded arrest of the policemen for allegedly torturing their colleague. They also warned to set up a hunger strike camp in front of the CM House if their demand was not met.
