ATTOCK, Dec 22: Principal of a private school was deprived of gold ornaments worth Rs700,000 and a pistol by two swindlers posed themselves as officials of an intelligence agency.

Police sources said on Thursday that Principal Abdul Sattar reported to the city police that two unknown persons arrived at his school in a white corolla car a day back. One of them entered his office and introduced himself as an officer of a sensitive intelligence agency and also produced his identity card. Later, he informed the principal that the agency had arrested an Afghan national involved in kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer, the son of slain Punjab governor Salman Taseer. During investigation, his phone number was traced from the mobile phone of the accused boy.

He said that the boy also disclosed that he had given some jewellery and a pistol to the principal and he wanted to inspect the same.

At his demand, the principal took both the persons to his house near Fatehjang Chowk and produced about 13-tola gold ornaments and a 30-bore licenced pistol to the so-called intelligence officers for checking. Meanwhile, they suddenly came out of the house and escaped from the scene along with jewellery and pistol.  The police registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Amin, a resident of Humak village reported to Sadder police that three unknown persons boarded in a white car, intercepted him and snatched his pickup on gunpoint near Faqirabad village. Police registered a case and started investigation.
