NAWABSHAH, Aug 21: An 18-year-old bride was shot dead by her husband on the wedding night here on Sunday, police said.

Mumtaz Magsi who had married Shazia, 18, in the Jhal Magsi area of Balochistan on Saturday opened fire at her in his house in Sumera Colony on Sunday morning.

According to police, she was seriously injured and taken to the People's Medical College Hospital where she died.

Her mother Shehnaz has lodged an FIR at the A-Section police station against Mumtaz who escaped after committing the crime. The mother took Shazia's body to Jhal Magsi for burial. —Correspondent
