LAHORE, May 4: A Jazz concert organied by German Cultural Center (The Annemarie-Schimmel Haus), associated with Goethe Institute, was held at Peeru’s Café in collaboration with Rafi Peer Theatre on Wednesday night.
The band, Jonas Schoen Quartett, comprising saxophonist Janas Schoen, pianist Buggy Braune, bassist Sven Kerschek and drummer Heniz Lichius, played contemporary and traditional Jazz tunes to a large number of western music lovers.
The band founded in 1999 with its premier CD Neindo was nominated by the German Music Critics Association for its recording prize. The band’s second and third CDs -- My Middle Name and Five and Fortunes -- have earned broad acclaim from the press and the public.
Schoen has established himself as a leading composer, lending his highly personal voice to performances by the North German Radio. — Staff Reporter
