LAHORE, Jan 27: Two motorcyclists deprived an associate professor of the University of Education, Lahore, of her gold jewellery outside her Model Town residence.

The police said that two bikers intercepted Prof Mariam Siddiqua, the wife of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan regional director Arshad Mahmood Malik, at the doorsteps of her C-Block residence and snatched from her gold bangles weighing 4 tola.

When she offered resistance, the muggers pushed her, causing her minor injuries. The police registered case against the bikers who fled.

Talking to Dawn, her husband said that street crimes in broad daylight in Model Town Society were a matter of grave concern for residents. — Staff Reporter
