RAWALPINDI, Jan 24: Ali Riaz, the son of real estate tycoon, got a pre-arrest bail from the Lahore High Court's Rawalpindi bench on Monday in the car racing case.

Five people were killed on December 5 last year when during a drag race in Bahria Town's Phase VIII, a car lost control and hit spectators. Mr Riaz is one of the accused in the case along with three others.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had earlier issued arrest warrants for Mr Riaz.

Meanwhile, the chief security officer of Bahria Town will appear before an additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday (today) for obtaining pre-arrest bail.

Investigating Officer Inspector Mehdi Khan said the chief security officer was one of the organisers of the race.

He said Atif Sheikh, one of the accused, had escaped to Dubai.
