RAWALPINDI, Dec 27: A young man was shot dead while another injured in Westridge on Monday night, police said.
Mohammad Waqar and Rizwan Ali were standing outside their home when Gul Khan, with whom they had a petty dispute, appeared on the scene and opened fire on Waqar killing him on the spot and injuring Rizwan. The alleged killer escaped from the scene.
Meanwhile, a woman was killed after being run over by a speeding car in Shahlay valley of Westridge. Ms Bilquees was crossing the road when she met with the accident.
Child kidnapped
A child was kidnapped from outside his house at Valley Road, police said Monday.Wali Saeed was playing in the porch of his house when a car stopped in front of the gate. One of the occupants of the car got out and picked up the 18-month-old and sped away.
When contacted, Abdul Sattar, the station house officer of Westridge, confirmed that the boy, grandson of a retired army officer, was kidnapped by some unidentified people.
However, he did not confirm whether the kidnappers had made any call to the boy’s parents demanding ransom for his release.
“Police are investigating on different lines to trace the boy,” the SHO added.
