GILGIT, Dec 4: A man allegedly shot dead his father in a remote town of Ghizer district after he feared that he would be deprived of his due share in property, police said on Saturday.

Neighbours reported to police that Gaffar had been shot dead by unknown people during night at Chatorkhand.

But police said when the matter was investigated they found that Gaffar was actually shot dead by his son, Didar Ali.

Didar Ali was taken into custody and during interrogation he confessed to killing his father because he was likely to be deprived of property as soon as his father married another woman after the death of his mother.

Didar Ali told police he tried his best to make his father change his 'inhuman' attitude and shun plans of throwing him and his only sister out of their home but he did not budge. He added he had been left with no option other than to kill his father. Police after completing investigation presented the murderer before the court for legal proceedings. STRIKE CONTINUES:
