KARACHI, Feb 21: A suspected bank robber with a bomb strapped to his body was killed and a policeman injured in a shootout on Saturday at Karachi’s wholesale fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi).

“I am a Talib, get out of my way,” the man shouted upon entering the bank, according to police.

Police said the man, wearing a suicide jacket and carrying a hand grenade, entered a branch of the Muslim Commercial Bank at 12:10pm and opened fire on a police constable.

The policeman returned the fire, killing the suspect.
