HYDERABAD, Feb 18: The World Bank’s senior economist Ms Mehnaz S. Safian said that the bank’s Cost for Doing Business Program, which was successfully running in 230 cities of 32 countries of the world, was being launched in Hyderabad to help expand business activities as well as agriculture sector.

Ms Mehnaz who was part of a delegation, comprising WB research analyst Kiran Afzal and WB research associate of finance, Naveed Iftikhar, USAID project specialist Shamza Khan and program management specialist Sarah Pervez who called on Hyderabad district nazim, said that the program was started in 13 cities of Pakistan and it was launched in Punjab in 2007.

She distributed forms of the program among the EDOs of revenue, law, IT, community development and TMAs. The form had to be filled in and submitted between March 15 and May 6.

She said that under the program concerned government officials would be provided training.
