KARACHI, Jan 18: The New Karachi Town administration has decided to constitute tax recovery teams at union council level to increase the town’s revenue.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Town Nazim Akhtar Hussain. TMO Syed Kamal Ahmed, DTO recovery, information and all uc nazims and naib nazims attended the meeting.

Each recovery team will comprise five members. Uniforms had been imported from China to ensure proper and effective functioning of the teams, the meeting was informed. The town nazim said that TMO and DTO recovery, who would head the recovery teams, would pay surprise visits to union councils to see their performance.

The nazim made it clear that since the town’s revenue mostly depended on tax collection, it was the only town where such teams had been constituted.

Meanwhile, Saddar Town Nazim Mohammad Dilawer reviewed the ongoing work for beautification of Teen Talwar in Clifton.

He said that a network of green parks and roundabouts had not only provided healthy environment to the people but also helped control pollution. He named five parks being developed in Clifton, adding that the town administration was also taking steps to improve civic facilities.—APP
