DADU: Tribute paid to Ustad Bukhari

By Our Correspondent

DADU, Jan 16: The 79 birth anniversary of renowned Sindhi poet Ustad Bukhari was celebrated by his family members at their residence in Gharibabad Mohalla here on Friday.

Brother of Ustad Bukhari, Syed Hakim Ali Shah and son Dr Altaf Bukhari inaugurated the programme by cutting a cake. A few relatives and close friends of Ustad Bukhari attended the simple ceremony.

Dr Altaf said that Ustad Bukhari was the poet of people and would live in their hearts forever. Ustad, he said, showered love and affection on both young and elders and spread the message of simple living through his work. The poetic work of Ustad Bukhari was in the process of printing in book form, he said.

Lahno Khan Jamali asked the Sindh government to publish all his poetry work.

Anwar Azad Kandhro said that Ustad Bukhari was a great Sindhi language poet and as such the provincial government should hold programmes on his birth and death anniversaries.
