KARACHI, Jan 13: A couple was booked on Tuesday for killing their 20-year-old cook in their house in the Defence Housing Authority, police said.

The Defence police said that the body of Hakim Ali, son of Abdul Karim Samijo, was found hanging from a tree in the bungalow of Arif Rashid, a marble trader, at Street No 6-N, Phase 1, DHA.

They said that the house owner told the police that the victim had committed suicide. However, they said that the deceased’s uncle, Imam Din, lodged a murder case (18/09) against the victim’s employers.

The police said that the complainant told the investigators that his nephew wanted to marry the daughter of his employers, who allegedly killed him.

They said that no arrest was so far made in this connection. The police were still conducting the investigation and waiting for the final post-mortem report.

Wife beaten to death

An 18-year-old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her husband in Qasba Colony.

The Pirabad police said that the suspect, Pervaiz, fled the scene after killing his wife, Aamia.

The police said that the family hailed from Dir and the woman was killed when her husband hit her with a club. The couple had married only two months ago. No case was registered till late as the police were still waiting for the victim’s relatives for lodging an FIR.

Body found

The body of a young man was found at a desolate place in Sohrab Goth police limits.

The police said that the body was lying in the bushes near Chakar Hotel.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section told Dawn that the body was at least three to four days old as it had started decomposing.

The police said that the victim remained unidentified and the body was kept at the Edhi morgue for want of identification.
