Karachi Kickers triumph

KARACHI, Jan 12: Karachi Kickers beat Salar Mohammadan 5-4 in the All-Pakistan NBP Challenge Cup football tournament at the Colony Sports Football Ground, Malir, on Sunday.

The match ended in a draw 1-1 at the end of regulation time and had to be decided on penalty kicks. Karachi Kickers’ left-winger Nur Ahmed scored in the 22nd minute and Salar Mohammadan’s striker Abdul Salar resorted the parity in the 53rd.

Strikers Inam-ul-Haq, Azizullah, Abdullah and Tahir Hussain managed to convert the penalty kicks for Karachi Kickers. Haleem Baloch, Nawab Hussain and Mohammad Zahid scored for the losing outfit.

The match was supervised by referee Imam Bakhsh with Zaheer Abbas as the match commissioner.
