DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 12: A doctor, his wife and a daughter died from suffocation owing to a gas leak here on Monday in Faridabad Colony while their infant son was rescued.
Dr Natiq Hiyat of the Rescue service told Dawn that Dr Munir Kharal, his spouse Sadia and their two-year-old daughter Omama were found dead in their living room in Faridabad Colony in Civil Lines police precincts, while their infant son, Rafey, was rescued.
The family had left the heater and a lamp switched on. Gas resumption after loadshedding did the damage. He said the rescue team entered the room by breaking the door. The gas supply remained suspended for at least 12 hours and restored late on Sunday.
BAN: The district government has imposed a ban on inter-district movement of wood and establishment of kiln and saw machines adjacent to forests.
A notification to the effect was issued here on Monday.
It prohibited out-of-district movement of wood, logs and establishment of kiln and saw machines adjacent to forests in the sphere of five kilometres.
According to the notification, the district government directed dealers and owners of brick kiln and saw machines to keep the record of wood and visit divisional forest office for registration. Action would be taken against unregistered dealers and owners.
The areas where ban would be effective are Rakh Triman, Rakh Kalowala, Rakh Thatha Jhoke Bodo, Rakh Rindwala, Rakh Berot Manwani, Rakh Patimir Merani, Bhatti Maila forest, Rakh Rind Saiwara, Rakh Haer Malana, Rakh Golwah, Rakh JamPur Braham, Rakhpati Imam Bakhsh, Rakh Jhalar Latif Shah, Rakh Kahi Mehsrawn, Rakh Patimir Merani and plantation along the road and canal.—Correspondent
