QUETTA, Jan 12: A railway employee’s house was badly damaged in a bomb explosion that occurred in the Railway Guard Colony late on Monday night.

Police said that the home-made device had destroyed a room in Railway guard Arshad Hameed’s house. Some nearby houses were also damaged.

No one was killed or injured because no one was at the house when the bomb exploded.

The responsibility for the hand-grenade explosion in a bakery at Jail Road, in which three people were injured on Sunday night, was claimed by the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army on Monday.

Meanwhile, militants also fired rockets at a Frontier Corps checkpost in the Bekar area of Dera Bugti district.

“Two rockets exploded near the checkpost,” sources said. No casualty or damage was reported.

Sources said that after the attack, security forces also fired rockets at militants’ positions.
