ATTOCK, Jan 11: An old man was killed by unknown persons at Khor village, while another person was shot and injured by his brother over a land dispute, officials said.

Mehrban Hussain reported to the Pindigheb police that his family found his father, Sultan Mehmood, lying in a pool of blood in the house Saturday evening.

Mehrban told the police that his father had been residing with him for the last one year after Mr Mehmood’s relations with his wife, daughters and sons soured over some family dispute.

Meanwhile, Zawar Ali Shah told Hassanabdal Saddar police that he was traveling with his friends in a car when his brother, Amjid Ali, allegedly attacked the vehicle near Khatrah village. As a result, he sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The motive behind the attack was stated to be a land dispute.

The Attock police claimed to have arrested a five-member gang of auto thieves, who were allegedly involved in a car snatching incident reported in the jurisdiction of Attock Saddar police few days ago.

The accused, identified as Atif Ali, Ansar Mohammad, Mohammad Usman, Ghulam Mohammad and Mohammad Sarfraz, allegedly snatched the car from Imran Akhtar and Mohammad Safdar on Attock-Sanjwal road.

The five persons were being interrogated by the police.
