FAISALABAD, Jan 10: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will hold a four-day book fair and an international symposium on entrepreneurship for the agricultural and rural development on Jan 14.

This was stated by UAF Vice-chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad on Saturday in the deans committee meeting at the New Syndicate Hall. The VC said UAF would expand its ties with national and international organisations to further boost the educational and research standards of the varsity and enable its graduates to fulfill the emerging demands.

He said author, journalist, Fellow of New America Foundation, Washington DC, and professor of Kings College London Professor Anatol Lieven would deliver a lecture on "How Pakistan Works" on the occasion. The ambassadors' of US, UK, Australia and France, besides State Bank governor, planning commission deputy chairman and other dignitaries would also take part in the event.

He said the book fair would be held at varsity’s main library, featuring titles on fields including agriculture, animal sciences, basic sciences, engineering, literature (Urdu & English), management sciences, medical sciences and veterinary sciences.

The publications of National Book Foundation and the UAF would also be available at the fair where renowned booksellers from all over the country would set up stalls.—Staff Correspondent
