OKARA, Jan 5: A lawyer and two railway personnel were injured in a brawl over rail fare here on Monday.
Advocate Abdul Razzaq Bhatti asked for a ticket for which counter clerk Saifullah demanded Rs50. The price printed on the ticket was, however, Rs35. Mr Bhatti refused to give the extra amount. The railway man, however, insisted on Rs50, saying the fares had recently been increased and the tickets were being sold on new rates. Both the lawyer and the clerk exchanged hot words.
Four or five railway officials came to rescue their colleague and manhandled Mr Bhatti. The lawyer also called his colleagues for help and a few lawyers arrived at the railway station and settled the score with railway officials Rana Shamoon and Saifullah.
Later, both Mr Bhatti and the railway men got medico-legal certificates and were trying to get registered cases against each other. Lawyers also called on District Police Officer Bilal Siddiq and demanded action against the officials. Police were yet to take any action.
