Shahbaz on power generation

LAHORE, Jan 4: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday the government was paying full attention to power generation from solid waste and coal and that vast reserves of coal found in the Punjab would be used.

At a meeting with administrative secretaries, the chief minister discussed suggestions regarding the visits of independent power producers from Hong Kong and Singapore, according to an official handout.

The chief minister said that during his visit to China, 19 memorandum o understanding of cooperation in different sectors were signed while these agreements would be put into practice.

He expressed the hope that the foreign investment would generate economic activities in Punjab.
