KARACHI: Power cuts persist

KARACHI, Jan 4: Unannounced load-shedding persisted in many parts of the city despite a low demand on account of a closed holiday on Sunday.

Perturbed over frequent suspension of power supply during Saturday night and Sunday, consumers calling from F B Area, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Surjani Town, Lyari, Saddar, Defence, Clifton, Landi and Korangi questioned the justification for load-shedding on Sunday.

The KESC staff at the complaint centres, they said, also could not satisfy them when asked about the reason for load-shedding four times during the 24 hours and each span running into two or more hours. They said that the frequent disruption in power supply not only disturbed their domestic schedules and affected commercial activities, but also caused damage to their expensive electrical appliances.—Staff Reporter
