ISLAMABAD, Jan 2: Minister for Information Sherry Rehman has said that Pakistan is pursuing its own counter-extremism agenda and is cooperating with the international community’s efforts against terrorism.

“Pakistan is steadfast in its commitment to elimination of extremism and for maintaining peaceful relations with all its neighbours,” Ms Rehman said during a meeting with British High Commissioner Robert Brinkley who had called on her on Friday.

They exchanged views on Pakistan-UK relations and developments in the region in the wake of last month’s terror attacks in Mumbai.

“The government is working to enhance Pakistan’s strategic partnership with the UK in our battle against extremism and for our shared goal to bring peace and stability to the region,” she said.
