HYDERABAD, Dec 31: DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri has asked the Sindh government departments working in the district to provide him information about the status of their official electric meters, electricity dues and disputes and claims with Hesco so that same can be got reconciled with Hesco management through the provincial government.

He was speaking at a meeting regarding Hesco’s wrong electricity billing and settlement of disputes at his office on Wednesday.

The DCO said that he had been nominated as focal person by the Sindh chief secretary to prepare a comprehensive report required for reconciliation of Hesco dues and settlement of disputes both for the district and provincial government departments.

He said that survey teams comprising representatives of stakeholders and technical experts had been constituted and were in the field for physical verification of disputed electric meters and getting the necessary information from the departments concerned.

He said that the district government departments had submitted the required information but the response for the provincial departments was poor.

He said that the poor response had affected the performance of a committee working under his supervision to supplement the efforts of the provincial government for resolving the issue of Hesco dues with government departments.

He said that an end to the row would not only improve working condition in government offices but also ensure efficient deliveries to people.
