KARACHI: MS/PhD admission

KARACHI, Dec 31: The University of Karachi has extended the date for submission of forms for MS/PhD admissions from Dec 31, 2008 to Jan 17, 2009.

The candidates have been advised to submit complete forms and those who have already submitted incomplete forms have been directed to submit the required documents by the new date.

The departments which do not have the approved MS/PhD courses by the relevant institutions are not entitled to offer MS/PhD programmes with the present intake (i.e. 2009), according to a KU release.

The academic activities at the university will resume on Thursday as per the schedule.

An announcement by the KU registrar said that the new entrants should complete enrolment and other formalities at their respective departments by January 3. The orientation for the new entrants will be held on Jan 5.

In a separate announcement, he said the regular classes for the university’s evening programme will commence on Jan 9.

Book launched

The book titled “World Peace Order towards an International State” authored by Prof Mohammad Ahmed Qadri was launched at a ceremony held on the Karachi University campus under the auspices of the Political Science department and the faculty of Arts on Wednesday. KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui presided over the ceremony.—APP
